This was the last game project of my second year which I did with a team in Production I. The course was focused on 2D game development but our team took on an extra challenge to make a 3D game instead. I was the sole designer on this team so I worked on both the systems and level design. The part I am most proud of is the needs mechanic. In the game, the player is rolling around a glass jar filled with small bug-like creatures, and the creatures have different needs that have to be met, namely hunger, cleanliness, and happiness. While working on the game I decided the parameters on how those needs would be depleted and restored, allowing different systems such as movement and enemies to work together around the needs mechanic. The final game is still a prototype and many more uses of this mechanic could have been implemented if the project progressed any further.
